Onikwauthando Foundation

About Us

The Onikwauthando Foundation was established in 2018 when its Founder, Ms Maliviwe Cekiso, identified the need for South African teenagers to have motivation in their lives after making mistakes.

Ms Cekiso was a Bcom student at the University of Fort Hare leading on various platforms and organisations until she finished her qualification.

Maliviwe was born at Bhisho Hospital and did her primary school in the Karoo, Somerset East. In the small town she built a passion for sport at Gill Primary School, she excelled and played for the 1st Hockey at Gill College HS.

“No child puts themselves in a position that they do not want to be in, nor a home that is not loving, the least we could do is help them reach their fullest potential. ” – Maliviwe Cekiso.

Ms Cekiso has always had a vision for community uplifting and charity work that is endless. She has worked in various fields and that opened her mind to seeing how other people make a living and how they make ends meet in their households.

The Onikwauthando Foundation began its transition into an organisation focused on memory, dialogue and legacy work. A comprehensive refurbishment of the Foundation’s building provided it with an appropriate home.
